What Is The L.O.C Method?

What is really the L.O.C Method? What is the benefits of using the L.O.C Method? How do you use this method? There are a lot of questions about using this method and once one properly learns how to use this method they would understand the benefits of using this method.

What Is The L.O.C Method?

The L.O.C Method is a method of using Leave in conditioner or liquid, oil and cream such as shea butter creme in order to add a maximum amount of moisture to the hair. The layer of moisture is effectively sealed in by two products which are both known to be excellent sealants: oil and butter.

How To Do This Method:

1. The First step is by applying a moisturizing, water-based, leave-in conditioner to cleansed hair. Many women also use water in a spray bottle for this step.

2. The next step, is to apply a thin layer of oil to your hair to help lock in the moisture. The oil you apply will vary depending on the porosity level of your hair.

3. The last and final step is to apply a butter-based, creamy moisturizer to your hair to seal the moisture in. The cream can also provide your curls with definition and hold, so pick a styling cream that works for your hair. If your curls need more of a hold than a creamy moisturizer can give, then feel free to finish up with your regular styling products to style your hair as usual.

Who can benefit From Using This Method?

The LOC method will work best for high porosity hair or hair that always feels dry. Many Type 4 coilies use it as our coils and kinks are typically very thirsty. keep in mind that porosity will play a major role in whether or not this method is going to work for you. If you have low porosity curly hair and attempt this method you could run the risk of having hair that is limp and oily and experience a lot of product build up. If you try the LOC method and find that it weighs your hair down.
